Nike Fitness Ad- Encouraging or Exploitive?

I recently read a post on Time Magazine’s Blog that asked whether a new Nike ‘Greatness’ ad featuring an obese boy exploited fat people? 

I really liked the spot…showed a kid committed to running…who cares what he weighs? What do you think?

  1. I love it! Messages like this are inspiring to me, mostly because they are relatable. What I like is that the words are encouraging to people of all shapes and sizes. It’s aimed at the general masses, and the message of greatness being attainable to all somehow inspires self-care, or at the very least, movement. I don’t run, but if I did, I would look much like this running boy. I can relate to him, and thus the message becomes personal. And luckily, in this case, uplifting.
