Freedom from Emotional Eating, Food & Weight Obsession

Here we go again. Another diet craze is coming. God help us!

It’s called the “Dukan Diet” after a Pierre Dukan, it’s French Doctor promoter. And according to a New York Times quote from Frank Sacks, professor in the Department of Nutrition at Harvard University’s School of Public Health and chairman of the American Heart Association Nutrition Committee, the diet is “…not based on any scientific data whatsoever.”

Still, it’s coming to America and otherwise smart Americans will put their intelligence aside and fall for yet another diet promotion, with all its false promises, again…out of desperation to be what…thinner, “in control”, as attractive as the fashion, cosmetics, and entertainment industries say we should be, or maybe more attractive than someone else in our lives whose life we envy?

The New York Times (in it’s Fashion and Style Section), called the diet, “Warmed-Over Atkins”. If you are as tired as I am of being a sap, educate yourself and scream from the rooftops,”NO. I’m NEVER going to DIET again!”.  Read my hips, DIETS MAKE US FATTER. If you don’t believe me, look back at pictures from times in your own life when you thought you were fat and started dieting. Are you thinner today?

Refocus your efforts! Figure out what behaviors, today, would make you feel better in your body and healthier, today; emotionally, physically, nutritionally, and spiritually. If you feel blocked or are not sure what to do to get healthier in any one of those arenas, get support and learn how to create the life you say you want…rather than pinning all of your life’s dreams on some false God with a diet to sell.

About Ellen Shuman

Ellen on the phone

I have worked in the Wellness Field for 30 years. I created an Emotional Eating & Binge Eating Disorder Recovery Program way before most people knew BED was an eating disorder, NOT a “willpower” issue. Personally, I suffered for years before finding answers and the help I needed and deserved! I became a Coach in 1997 to help others who were still suffering as I had. I love being a Coach!
