I have the pleasure of leading movement classes for women. I am a practitioner of the Nia Technique, a mind-body fitness practice. My studio resides in a lovely space, specially designed for women, in an old gentrified factory. It has a funky feel with high ceilings, painted concrete walls and earthy carpets. The space provides a safe place for us to explore our relationships with our bodies as we move, wiggle, shake, dance, stretch, and embrace our breath. We connect with physical sensations, body stories, histories and desires.

Hi Robin,
Thanks so much for your post. It has been sweltering here for several weeks now and I’ve been really beating myself up for skipping a couple workouts. Your post encouraged me to modify my workout today to fit with what I could comfortably do so rather than dropping it altogether. And I feel great about this approach, no need to beat myself up!
Thanks!
