Weigh This Instead!

Life After Emotional & Binge Eating

Be Who You Are

Have you ever decided not go to a social event because you were afraid about what others might think of you based on what you weigh?

I just read this quote at the very bottom of fellow “Health at Every Size” advocate’s email. It brought to mind a discussion thread that’s taking place in our Members’ Forum, about worrying about what others might think about us.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.   ~Dr. Seuss

Think about the people you love, the people you like to be around. Do you require they be a certain size to be worthy of your company? Do you have one set of rules for you and another set for others?

This week, consider paying attention to how much time do you spend in the course of your day worrying about or assuming others will negatively judge you based on how much you weigh or on some other aspect of your appearance you dislike?

Then, imagine waking up tomorrow and living your life as if that were no longer a barrier.
